PGA TOUR: FARMERS INSURANCE OPEN 2011: Bubba ‘The bomber’ Watson wins it

BUBBA ‘THE BOMBER’ WATSON DOMINATES, THEN BLUBBERS HIS WAY TO VICTORY: 2011 Farmers Insurance Open: Bubba ‘the Bomber’ showed everyone, even the great and powerful ‘Phil’ how to win a PGA Tournament with gusto. This Sunday at the Farmers Insurance Open was a battle Royale between a known, Phil Michelson, a semi known, Bubba ‘The bomber’ Watson and the up and coming newbie, Jhonattan Vegas, aka Johnie Vegas. Mr. Up and Comer…

What made the event was how bubba ‘Mr. Long Drive’ Watson showed his human side by nearly crying his way through his entire TV interview. now that is a sensitive golfers. Clearly this sensitivity was something that helped him around the greens. The commentators mentioned numerous times how Bubba spent the winter just practicing his 10ft and in putting. Well it paid off. Congratulations Mr. Watson. You went far beyond the traditional long drivers of the PGA Tour. You actually put your entire game together for a win. Short and long…that’s what it takes.

The best part was when Bubba sank his 10 footer for birdie on 18 and made Michelson have to hole out from the fairway…but wait…Bones comes running up the fairway and tends the flag… Something I’ve never seen on the PGA Tour. Then Bones has to pull and run because Phil brains it on the fly to within 1 foot of the hole. Phil is truly a short game master and the only guy I would tend a pin for from 60 yards.
